To live is to feel and to feel is to experience energy. The undeniable truth of who you are right now and who you are capable of being. Electrically charged and overflowing within your "current" existence. Humans are essentially energy. Walking, talking emotional clumps of energy. Ready to receive and use energy at a moment's notice. Our neurons at this very moment contain countless synaptic vesicles. These pre-filled spheres contain neurotransmitters. Patiently docked and waiting for an electrical signal at unbelievable precision.

"Every second the body has a synaptic firing rate of 100 trillion to 20 quadrillion."

- Astra Bryant, Stanford Neurologist

Take a moment to try and absorb the inconceivable notion of humanity. An accumulation of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen. In turn these substances, feel empathy, give love, motivate other atoms to accomplish something better than previous atoms.

In order to feel human, balance is essential. The human brain uses up an enormous amount of ATP to produce our total energy. The brain is 2% of body weight, but receives 15% of blood and consumes 20% of the energy. Energy is abundantly flowing through the brain assisting the body with energy homeostasis. A constant adjustment of biochemical and physiological pathways keeping the body at peace. Our bodies' ability to keep a constant internal environment is energetically amazing!

In its simplest form, thermodynamics is the study of the relationship of all forms of energy in the universe.

The first law of thermodynamics states that energy is always conserved, it cannot be created or destroyed. Energy can only be converted from one form into another. Meaning the amount of energy at the beginning of the universe will be the same at the end of the universe. Energy is not being created from nothing. Remember the very first source of energy was the sun. Lightning then sparking fire, fire setting up a platform for cooking. In our everyday lives, cooking transfers mechanical energy to electrical energy to thermal energy. Later tasks harnessing wind for other energy strategies became more prevalent. There are many more energy forms constantly being transferred from one platform to another. Energy is bombarding us at every level, it is all around us, yet difficult to imagine.

A universe in which no energy is being created nor destroyed I feel is sending a clear signal, life is all about balance.

Through a watchful eye the universe does a great job of reiterating its purpose. Sharing insight on similarities between our lives and the laws of thermodynamics. To recall, the first law is the total energy of the universe remains constant. In the depths of intertwining emotion we find an opportunity for energy transfer. Placing your energy away from yourself upon someone or something else. There is no measurable proof that humans have a magical aura around them. Nonetheless, I do know invisible energy exists in many ways. For example, thermal energy from the sun can be felt, but not necessarily seen. Emotional energy I feel follows that same ideal. A marriage or relationship requires the ability to take an existing portion of yourself and pass along to another person. You’re not taking something you don’t have or creating something new. You are transferring energy that you would normally be reflecting upon yourself and moving it away from you. A conversion of emotions. This is a two way street. Two participants transferring an energy; forces collide into one shared entity. A direct link to happiness if energy is applied with work.

A trail of ancestors

Connect stars in the sky

Slowly they spiral

Away with time

Spills off the Moon

My side of the universe

Maybe just a clever dream

I still can’t help but wonder

Is there more to be seen?

You offer me the universe

From your side of the lens

A chance to see color

For the first time again

As far as we know

Through one telescope

Never once feeling alone

Too much to see

Too little time

The second law of thermodynamics indicates the universe as a whole is steadily moving toward a state of complete randomness. It has been constantly increasing since the big bang. This is called Entropy. It is the universe leaning toward chaos. Let me pause for a moment while you visualize your child’s bedroom. It is a natural tendency for things to lose order. For instance, a solid ice structure will melt if there are no external interventions. It is unimaginable for the water to return to ice without tampering with it. The petals of a flower will fall. A glass breaks when it hits the ground. There are no likely reverse processes to take place in these instances. It would be extremely unlikely velocity would reverse for every single shard of glass. Why does entropy matter in your life? Entropy provides direction through time. Time does not stop. It continues to grasp uncertainty and randomness as it spreads out further. I believe that is why we feel nothing in life is easy. There are alway consequences for our actions.

“Matter tells space how to curve, space tells matter how to move.”

- Physicist, John Archibald Wheeler

It is important to find acceptance in this idea as you progress through a profession, build a relationship or dive into a hobby. The world in its entirety is essentially trying to outreach you! Everything is slowly becoming quietly to a point of equilibrium. Time is not seen as a molecule, but I do believe time can be best explained as the disorder of thought. People have the ability to take control of high entropy or high chaos in life. Then mold it back into low entropy or low chaos. Perhaps a part of your life is falling apart, becoming distant or just unorganized. You are capable of improving it through reducing the chaos. An important clarification to highlight is the "item" you squeeze down under your control has not disappeared. It has simply been shifted or been redirected. It essentially will pop up somewhere else. I believe the universe teaches us through energy and time that our purpose during this brief transient is to fundamentally understand balance.

An innovative abundance of shared energy transferred in hopes for a greater good.

Balance. Why balance? If you are headed toward an energy crisis, don’t focus on figuring out how to rearrange your time. Focus solely on your energy balance. Manage your energy since you cannot manage time. Time is finite. Quickly and swiftly time yanks the future into the past. Although the total amount of energy and matter remain constant, you are able to creatively convert it. I believe a higher level of overall happiness can be achieved if you focus on sculpting yourself into a more balanced version of you. In time your controlled inner balance will slow the pace of high entropy around you.

May balancing your energy bring you to a level of happiness you were divinely invited to feel, know and conquer.

An eye opening reality of where you fit, in this vast universe. Enjoy!
