Design has a rich history in humanity driven by the desire to solve problems. It has existed within us since prehistoric times. To clarify, this would be the moment of time before the human race was proficient enough to record plans in writing. Ingrained in our existence, we understood the lifeblood of design and that was evident very early on. Take, for instance, before the Egyptian Pyramids and the architectural wonder of Petra; we stood firmly in front of Stonehenge. Our feet and hands sharing the same dirt as the humbling stones. The design marvel and astronomical observatory, Stonehenge resides on Salisbury Plain in England. Most famous for its relationship with the Summer and Winter solstice. These dates were far more than just the longest and shortest daylight days of the year. They were essential turning points on the annual calendar indicating seasonal changes associated with important goals pertaining to agriculture and wildlife. Dates that were significantly important in order to reach a pivotal goal.
I Pose To You The Question…. What is your Divine Design?
Think for a moment about the concept of you designing your own human experience. This is different from life, just simply organically unfolding. Although things melting calmly into place does sound comfortability addictive. This would be a personalized designed life, created by you, specifically for you. It would justifiably be called, your Divine Design.
You are and you have always been the architect to your own life. We tangibly can foster a mechanical ingenuity at work for others. WHY don't we engineer that same creativity in ourselves? You are the creator, artist and developer of you. As the architect be prepared for a lot of criticism. Lots of questions and doubts from you! Yes, you will undermine your own design. As humans we are wired to cling to familiarity and reject new approaches. Luckily you are aware of this ahead of time. Like any great architect knows, a trip out of the office is the best way to truly be in touch with your design. Anytime your space feels stuck, venture out on a walk to rediscover your own thoughts. The design project is you. You can and should always be actively designing a custom designed life.
In case you may be feeling blind
Seeing your divine design
Abandon your sight
Allow the sunset to dive
Highways don’t always have to be black
You don’t always need broken yellow lines to pass
Your success has less to do with
Images viewed through your eyes
Your success has everything to do with
Images viewed through your mind
YOUR HOUSE - YOUR DESIGN - YOUR LIFE
1. FOUNDATION - Your Divine Design Weighs Entirely On This Structure
Organize a tight circle of friends and family
Find that underdeveloped curiosity that fuels an intense fire
Become deep-rooted in a belief system or moral code
Write a self-created mantra, motto or slogan to quote daily
Fully become devoted to the idea, "You are loved".
Define your purpose! Write on paper for a task later in this blog
2. STRUCTURAL SUPPORT & FRAMING - Cognitive, Emotional, Physical and Social
Research comfortable methods of meditation
Wake up and be real about lifestyle habits
Challenge yourself to 1 stretch of volunteer service
Practice prioritizing days of listening over talking
Short cuts in framing is one of the biggest mistakes you can make
Plan your week ahead on a Sunday
3. STORIES, ROOMS & FLOORS - Represent Accomplishments
Redefine falling and failure as rising up to another story
Create shared memories with other people often
Continuously be climbing stairs toward your purpose
Consider the benefits of continuing your education
4. EXTERIOR & SIDING - Your Skin Protecting and Performing
Reinforce your boundaries and know your limits
Trade your current facade for more windows. Stare out, but also be seen.
Expand on your style without being trendy
Incorporate the proven health benefits of massage
5. ELECTRICAL - Your Brain Is The Lightbulb To Your Internal Light
Create a short or long-term change in your environment
Make an effort to learn something (anything) every single day
Rotate new types of exercise into your life
Just simply imagine.. Allow your mind to freely imagine...
Discover your laughter
Find a person, animal or passion where you can fall into endless love
Those Stonehenge stones mentioned earlier laid deep within the Earth. Design works from the ground up. Your feet are planted on the ground and serve as a reminder of your multi-faceted rise of design. A design marvel that bears your responsibility of continued exploration. Your divine design is an evolving continuing march past the resistance to change. Not one single foundation will sit motionless upon compression. Your foundational stones will shift and you will have to adapt to cracks with new stones and new nutritional strategies. Examine your home design closely and don't allow just anyone in. Keep a clean house for your health and a clear mind. Include the luminance of sunlight in your design. Natural sunlight plays a big part in the endless healing of our mind, body and soul. Daytime light can have a positive impact on nighttime sleep. Sometimes you will undergo small renovations and other times you will struggle through much bigger renovations. A home designed with smooth elegant perfectionism may appear to be your dream home. Perfection sits in illusion, while imperfection lives within the design of historic charm. The weight of an average home is about 50 tons. At times your life may feel that exact same weight. It's not the weight of your life that will eventually weigh you down, it is how you carry the weight.
DIVINE DESIGN
Your divine design
Is your internal life plan
Your heart keeps the rhythm
So your curiosity can expand
It starts with the dirt
It keeps you alive
Identify the nutrients
You are lacking inside
You are the architect
Within the body you breathe
Inhaling foresight
Exhaling debris
Have faith in the bedrock
Life builds stories from here
Stay in your lane, fall forward
Don’t look around and compare
Growth is more
Than building meaningless stories
It’s being a personal investor
Not the employee
Live in the depths
Of love and loyalty
The foundational square footage
Embodies your friends and family
Take with you the stones
From those who have said goodbye
Hold them close and inevitably
Your world will live on in their eyes ©S. Ihrig
Try this! Design is also about construction and I have to say, making this box was actually a lot of fun! This is far from Stonehenge, but tapping into your childlike creativity is the necessary flame to your future fire! I made this origami box photographed below and placed a note inside of it indicating my "Personal Purpose". My box now sits at my desk. It is a simple yet strong reminder I am capable of divine design. I challenge you to do the same! I used a simple piece of computer paper, which I cut to (8 X 8 inches).
I guarantee you'll smile upon completion 😊.
